That’s the question that’s up for grabs as Jen Mylo poses the question publicly in Make.WordPress: …I am wondering if the post formats ui is really prime time ready, or if it should be one of the very first things to land in a 3.7 branch so we can get the things that are completely ready into the hands of users sooner rather than later? You can read the rest of the thread and her reasoning behind bringing up the question in the first place. It’s worth noting, she’s not trying to cause trouble (and neither am I):
Drag and Drop with Bootstrap? Yes!
The genius of people never ceases to amaze me! We are pretty obvious fans of Bootstrap here at WP Daily as we use it to power this child theme as well as the theme under the hood and it’s helped us develop faster and with better standards ever since we started using it. There are a lot of other great CSS and front-end frameworks out there but there’s few that simply solves the problems of great design as quickly and as simply – so it can be difficult to jump ship when the time comes to choose one to use. What I Learned As Intern #0
My internship with WP Daily is over in 8 days. That’s hard to believe. Someday’s I feel like I’ve worked here for over a year but most days it feels like I’ve just begun. I’m learning on a constant basis about writing, editing, WordPress, plugins, best practices, openness, community and more. It’s been challenging as a relative newcomer to this whole scene but that challenge has also been what has made this internship so sweet. I’ve been coached, called out, pushed, corrected, applauded and accepted by the WP Daily team. They don’t settle for poor work, they hold each other […]
ZippyKid Goes a Bit Google on WordPress Hosting
Apparently ZippyKid is going to be a whole lot more zippy than before (yes, I suppose I went there). Now, with a new partnership in place, ZippyKid will be delivering even faster speeds for their clients and customers leveraging ngx_pagespeed designed to automatically apply speed and web performance best practices: We partnered with the PageSpeed team at Google to develop a new service designed to dramatically reduce page load times. Best of all, you’ll see significant performance gains without changing a single line of code or installing a plugin. The fact that existing customers won’t have to lift a finger is a big win for […]
A Review of Fundingpress, Crowdfunding Theme
After recently going through the juggernaut of a 30 day campaign myself on the veritable monster that is Kickstarter it’s been very interesting to see a ton of new players that are entering the WordPress ecosystem as WordPress-centric alternatives. Must be the soup du jour or something like that. I have a few issues with explosion of the crowd funding space and these new niche-within-niche-within-niche crowd funding sites that appear to be cropping up nearly every day – got a fascination with pottery? There’s a crowd funding community and website for you! That type of stuff, if you will. With the […]
