With tablets increasingly becoming the device that people use (all be it with the addition of a bluetooth keyboard in some cases) and smartphones becoming the first computer that people own, it begs the question of whether they can replace your computer as your only device. In the past we’ve looked at blogging from just a smartphone and the new android applications that allow your average blogger to write a good post, attach an image, reply to comments and even check the statistics from their different accounts. But today we’re looking at going one step deeper; not just writing blog […]

You don’t have to be there for all of the elements of the course – you can sign up for the one that’ll give you the most bang for your buck (i.e. time). You can learn:
Getting (and Keeping) a Job at Automattic is Painful
Just kidding…! …? Apparently a few of the Automatticians challenged each other to “knuckle pushups” – perhaps they were fighting over who would pay the tab that night. But it is a Theme Team tradition – ouch.
Congrats to 3 Years for ZippyKid and Their WP Cloud
This weekend ZippyKid will be celebrating their 3rd year in business. Without question, congratulations on that major milestone. It’s tough enough to start a business let alone keep it viable and sustainable! Vid Luther and his growing team are doing a great job of providing a competitive service to the likes WPEngine and Page.ly as well as Automattic and WordPress.com. Competition is a great thing and it forces businesses to innovate and stay hungry. What’s neat is that Vid Luther shares a lot more of the backstory of how ZippyKid came together including some choice and encouraging words from Matt […]
26 of 60: Did You Get a Pressnomics Invite?
Pressnomics is just 5 months or so away and it’s already getting exciting! They shared recently that they had sent out a few select invitations to a few WordPressers out there that were making a huge difference in the WordPress economy and I’ve already seen a select number of people via Twitter get there’s. Look, I’ll be honest, I was jealous for a moment (because I’m human, like you), but it was cool, you know, I’m cool with it. And then I got one myself and it was as if the very world blossomed before my eyes – I’m pretty sure […]

Ghost Fully Funded! (and Then Some)
Now the real work begins as they complete their partner awards and press on toward launch! Oh yeah. It’s going to be grand. Ghost, the new blogging platform that will attempt to rival other blogging platforms, including WordPress in many ways, has more than reached its funding goal today. Now the wait begins to see what the product will become and how it will stack up against competitors.
A Tavern-Side Chat with Jeff Chandler
Jeff Chandler (Jeffro) has opened the doors back wide open with WPTavern and the patronage is quickly coming back to where the drink is good. It’s been a pleasure to get to know Jeff personally through digital communication over the years and we here at WP Daily are fans – the way we see it is quite simple: The more the merrier! Remember, our manifesto and mission is collaboration over competition (although we enjoy a bit of healthy competition just like the next guy). So I reached out to Jeff and asked if he could spare a few minutes sharing what’s […]
