With work on WordPress 4.6 coming to an end, and 4.7 getting ready, WordPress.org is calling for volunteers to lead releases in 2017. Having release leads in place months in advance makes the project much more efficient. “It might seem advantageous to announce a year’s worth of release leads, but it puts the first and even second release lead at a disadvantage.
