Why Managed WordPress Hosting Is Awesome
Another day, another re-boot, and it went from bad to worse. My web host had emailed me about having to reboot my server. I had decided it best to go with managed (although not dedicated WordPress hosting) instead of unmanaged, as I didn’t have the time to deal with all the ins and outs of dealing with the technical details of taking care of my own server. My host emailed me the typical recommendations as it had all the times before, the first being to upgrade my VPS service, something I didn’t want to do. I was already spending more than […]
The WordPress Weekend Roundup
It’s been an insane week – and it’s been nothing short of a miracle. Finishing our Epic Gaming Mural, Holding our Jelly Event, organizing and finishing out WordCamp Atlanta (and the VIP after party), launching a Kickstarter Campaign, and managing all the other “normal” things in life – yikes, it’s just been insanity! Responsive Design vs Server-Side Solution
There is a large and continual debate as to whether or not you should build your WordPress blog and site to be responsive or if you should go native or have a server-side solution. I think you can argue strongly on all sides as long as you have a legitimate reason and motivation for developing that particular solution – it can’t just be “well, X does it so we’ll do it too!” Check out this white-paper by Mobile Joomla and Brave New Code as well as related infographic below:
