I had the pleasure of sitting down with Jeff Pearce (@Jeffikus) this morning, part of the WooThemes Team and developer of their Sensei plugin, an educational plugin that has the potential to become a serious player in the growing education marketplace. We chatted about his background, the culture of WooThemes, Sensei, and a fun lightning round of questions near the end. A super down-to-earth guy, Jeff is a great win for the WooThemes team! The folks behind Sensei announced their latest version, 1.3.0 today, bringing with it lots of neat new features, like multiple choice questions and quiz grading. If you’re not familiar with Sensei, it’s a neat little plugin that makes online teaching and assessments very easy with WordPress. Its focus is ease of use and simplicity, and because of that, it integrates seamlessly with any theme and other plugins you might already be using on your site. The use cases are endless, allowing anyone to monetize teaching a skill they have and then quiz students on what they’ve learned.

What a week. What a week. With a number of tragedies being reported all over the world it’s hard not to get pessimistic about the continuation of the human race. Actually, it’s hard to find motivation at times if you think about it too long. But great work is being done and there is more good out there than what’s being reported. So let’s keep it up folks! This past week has been an absolute blur – busyness hit an all-time high today as I had a keynote at a conference early in the morning, my daughter’s soccer game, and 3 back-to-back-to-back birthday parties and then my wife had a girl’s night out while I took care of the kids.
