Just got a press release that’s worth mentioning as it’s a really neat point of growth for both Creative Market and WooThemes who have apparently joined forces! Check out the official release announcement, which was handed to us a week ago but effective today:
The WordPress Weekend Roundup
What a week. And, can you actually believe that we’re in the month of June already? 2013 is about half-way done already. So, the question is, have you accomplished everything that you had set out to do in 2013? Are you slacking? Get to it!
Jeff Pearce on WooThemes, Sensei, and Paintball
I had the pleasure of sitting down with Jeff Pearce (@Jeffikus) this morning, part of the WooThemes Team and developer of their Sensei plugin, an educational plugin that has the potential to become a serious player in the growing education marketplace. We chatted about his background, the culture of WooThemes, Sensei, and a fun lightning round of questions near the end. A super down-to-earth guy, Jeff is a great win for the WooThemes team! Thanks Jeff for hanging out with me this morning and Matt Cohen for setting things up!
Sensei Updates to 1.3.0
The folks behind Sensei announced their latest version, 1.3.0 today, bringing with it lots of neat new features, like multiple choice questions and quiz grading. If you’re not familiar with Sensei, it’s a neat little plugin that makes online teaching and assessments very easy with WordPress. Its focus is ease of use and simplicity, and because of that, it integrates seamlessly with any theme and other plugins you might already be using on your site. The use cases are endless, allowing anyone to monetize teaching a skill they have and then quiz students on what they’ve learned.
DradCast with Adii Pienaar of WooThemes
The guys at DradCast (hosted by the awesome Dre of Sucuri and Brad of WebDevStudios) are continuing their awesome interviews and perhaps the best intro ever was created last night via Adii Pienaar, one of the founders of WooThemes: So I’m been waiting for my invite and this opportunity for bloody ages, and I had to wait up until episode 11 to finally get it. I know, I was appalled as well. I guess that’s however, it’s indicative of how an ex-rockstar is treated these days, like a fucking ghost. That said, the greater WordPress ecosystem has taken notice of a […]

The WordPress Weekend Roundup
What a week. What a week. With a number of tragedies being reported all over the world it’s hard not to get pessimistic about the continuation of the human race. Actually, it’s hard to find motivation at times if you think about it too long. But great work is being done and there is more good out there than what’s being reported. So let’s keep it up folks! Stay positive – this too shall pass!
The WordPress Weekend Roundup
Crazy week, right? It’s been one for the record books for me personally as I’ve been attempting to finalize a Kickstarter campaign and project that has pretty much hijacked my entire life. At some point I’ll have a massive retrospective, but I’m exhausted with only a day or so to go. But naturally there’s been more news than just Kickstarter project – here are some of the things that happened this previous week that you may not have gotten to see. Oh, and by the way, make sure you’re aware of the big super bot that’s attempting to access your […]
ThemeForest: 100% GPL, WooThemes to Join
And we all saw this coming. With all the news surrounding Envato, the GPL, and licensing, it was only a matter of time for the official announcement to drop, with the added bonus of having WooThemes join up as a launch partner: We’re happy to announce today that authors on ThemeForest and CodeCanyon can now choose to license their WordPress items through a 100% GPL option. To help us launch this new feature, we’re excited to have one of the most well known and respected theme outfits joining ThemeForest’s ever growing library — WooThemes! This is a day that many […]
The WordPress Weekend Roundup
This past week has been an absolute blur – busyness hit an all-time high today as I had a keynote at a conference early in the morning, my daughter’s soccer game, and 3 back-to-back-to-back birthday parties and then my wife had a girl’s night out while I took care of the kids. Whew. I’m drained. But it’s a “good” type of drained, you know? Hope you’re having a great weekend yourself. With that, here’s your Weekend WordPress Roundup:
