I’m a super-fan of Meetup.com – it really is the best way to organize, plan, and execute a meetup for your community. I’ve been using it for years and it’s never disappointed. Sure, I’ll admit that I’m not a super-fan of the fact that you have to pay a bit of coin to have the rights to organize but the meetups are worth it and it doesn’t break the bank. As you can see I’ve been doing it for years:
MemberPress: Just Another Membership Plugin?
Almost every day my inbox announces the arrival of another solution that will earn me a seven digit income passively. All I need to do (right now) is buy their plugin – for only $16. And while these promises are too good to be true, the idea of passive income, of recurring revenue, made off of a WordPress membership site still call out to content producers. Is this just the quest for the almighty dollar? And aren’t their enough membership plugins out there already? Given that demand, and it’s constant growth, you would have thought by now that the market […]
Goodbye Mug: A Day of Incredible Sadness
Yes. Tragedy has struck me today. I woke up this morning my WordPress mug was completely destroyed. After releasing a bloodcurdling scream (not really) I put myself together and asked the only person who would have any idea about what happened, my wife. She calmly said that my 2 year old decided that she’d “do the dishes” yesterday and threw my mug into the dishwasher like it was one of her toys. Ugh. How could I possibly be mad? Sure, it’s been one of my longest-standing WordPress companions (5 years!) and has been a front-row participant in my WordPress career […]
Carbon Neutral Hosting for Your WordPress Site?
Seriously? Yes, apparently so. Really Green WP is the first WordPress-centric service and managed hosting solution for those that are sensitive about their carbon footprint as it impacts the environment. What they are offering is both a consulting and web project services a well as a hosting solution for new or existing customers. As their marketing suggests they build WordPress sites that use less energy that in turn make them faster and then, if you want, they’ll put them in carbon neutral web hosting. I’ll be honest – I don’t know anything about carbon neutral initiatives and a cursory Google search […]
Shopify's Year in Review 2012
Let’s just put it plainly – Shopify is kicking serious tail. A very well-known eCommerce solution it’s been growing like wild-fire and last year they saw some incredible numbers in their posted infographic, detailing things like a total of 7.8MM customers who placed 9.9MM orders worth $742MM in revenue. Yikes. The point of even covering it here on WP Daily is because you, like me, may have recommended this service or at least compared it to many WordPress solutions in your research for a competent eCommerce solution. In other words, I shared Shopify with every single client that came to […]
