Here’s an incredibly handy infographic about Creative Commons that’s well worth a review if you use any photos or media for your blog posts, which is an incredibly strong strategy for building great content. With an overview of 2012 via WordPress.org I thought it would be neat to take a look at what 2012 looked like for WordPress.com – specifically via metrics, a bit of analytics, and some very basic math. There’s some neat things that have happened cumulatively that are worth noting:

It’s my honor and privilege to be one of the editors of this newly minted blog and since we started earlier this month it’s been a pretty neat ride. Statistically it’s been an incredible start for a concept that was once just a simmering thought below the surface that bubbled enough (and long enough) to capture our attention toward execution, even if it wasn’t a perfect product out the gate. Five Favorite Plugins of 2012
This has been a great year to be a WordPress developer, designer or user. With the updates to core, community, and paid plugins and themes, it’s been a real smorgasbord of awesomeness. In the realm of plugin development, it’s been a particularly exciting time with amazing new plugin releases and feature upgrades with existing plugins.
