Applicants are asked to provide names and contacts for organizing teams as well as proposed venue information and average hotel and flights costs. A Day of REST, the first ever WordPress REST API conference, will be held on Jan. 28, at Conway Hall in London. The speaker line-up for the event has been confirmed. Sessions will focus on different uses of the WP REST API and will take an in-depth look at several real-life applications. Automattic Could Go Public In 2016, Report Says
Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, is among 36 “unicorns” that could go public in 2016, CB Insights said in a report released yesterday. The 2016 Tech IPO Pipeline states there are more than 80 private tech companies in the U.S. currently valued at $1 billion or more, and notes that Automattic is among the 36 companies with the greatest momentum. Automattic joined the billion-dollar club in 2014 when it raised $160 million in Series C Funding, which raised its valuation to $1.16 billion. Roughly 2,000 WordPress developers, designers, bloggers, and enthusiasts flooded the streets of downtown Philadelphia last week to attend the inaugural WordCamp US. The two-day event was held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center on December 4-5 and featured more than 100 different sessions. WP Engine Prompts Customers To Reset Passwords After Security Exposure
WP Engine late Wednesday sent its customers an urgent security notification regarding an “exposure involving some of our customers’ credentials.” The company urged its customers to immediately update the passwords associated with their WP Engine accounts. According to the security notice, there is no evidence to suggest that this information has been used inappropriately. “Out of an abundance of caution, we are proactively taking security measures across our entire customer base.
