Today’s plugin review is for BlogAvenger, a plugin that is supposed to let you copyright everything on your blog. It’s built to ward off the “hordes of despicable content thieves that come scurrying across the web intent on only one thing: stealing our content!” If you say so. BlogAvenger wards off these hordes by disabling text selection, watermarking local images, creating DMCA notices, and banning known scrapers. Seems like a pretty powerful little plugin. Let’s take a closer look, shall we.
Inject Plugin: Strange Name, Potentially Helpful?
Today we’re taking a look at a new plugin from the folks at Netcodes. It’s called Inject. The idea behind Inject is to help give WordPress Designers and Developers more flexibility when creating custom sites. Essentially what Inject does is allow you to reuse dynamic content on your WordPress site wherever you want to put it with no extra PHP files. From within the plugin itself you can create your own custom page templates using HTML, CSS and JavaScript, avoiding PHP all together. The examples they give on their site, a portfolio, fancy author box, post list, gallery and slider […]
Newsworthy and Visual, 2 New WP.com Themes
Today may not be another Threeme day but we do have two new themes to bring your way. One theme is sure to catch the fancy of Oklahoma City Thunder fans, I’ll let you guys guess which one. The other theme looks prime for those of us who love featured images.
VIP Wranglers Wanted, Work Remotely
The WordPress.com VIP Team is looking to hire a few VIP wranglers to help support their growing business. If you’re interested in working for Automattic and specifically the VIP team for .com, then this is definitely worth taking a look at. VIP Wranglers are the people that make stuff happen for WordPress VIP. This means building the products and supporting them for their customers. They also go race car driving at some of their team powwows, which is one incentive I would definitely take advantage of!
Soliloquy 1.5 Released, 20% Discount!
It’s a big week for Soliloquy as they have launched a brand new version of their plugin, 1.5.0. Don’t miss out on the savings if you’ve been thinking about giving Soliloquy a shot.
Ghost is Looking To Hit Stretch Goal
By now you’ve heard that Ghost was fully funded in less than one day via Kickstarter, which is an incredible accomplishment! If you haven’t heard of Ghost yet you should familiarize yourself with it, as it appears to be a potentially strong competitor to WordPress. I say ‘appears’ because it isn’t actually ready yet and WordPress does have a ten year head start. Ghost, however, is gaining some ridiculous momentum and has many devout WordPressers excited. So what is the team behind Ghost looking to do with the next 25 days of their Kickstarter campaign? They want to raise 250,000 […]
90 Days Gone: Internship Officially Over
It’s been 90 days, officially. That means my days as an intern at WP Daily are over. What a ride! It’s hard to sum up what’s happened during that time (although I shared a few here) but here are a few quick thoughts in conclusion:
How Has WordPress Changed Your Life?
When I was down in Atlanta for WordCamp back in March, while we were gathering to eat some Yum Diggity at the VIP after party, John shared a few words with everyone that have stuck with me. He said something along these lines: Everyone in this room is here because of an open source piece of software. We’re able to share our stories, build our businesses and feed our families because of it. Think about that for a second, how awesome is that!? It is pretty remarkable, if you sit and think about that for a few minutes. An open […]

Recently, beta 4 for wpxtreme went live. It includes a good amount of changes and additions from the previous version of wpxtreme. The first noticeable difference is the homepage. It’s been redesigned to help the user focus on what has been deemed most important to them. You’ll see in the picture below that the homepage focuses on four main areas: Store, Plugins & Themes, UI & UX, and the upcoming Dev Center.
