Fix My WP: Support On The Cheap Or Cheap Support?
Fix My WP was submitted to us for news the same day we covered Fantasktic, another WordPress support site. Coincidence? I think not. Both sites offer one-time support (Fatasktic just added a monthly support option), albeit for very different prices. Fantasktic charges an almost flat fee of $99, which is great. Fix My WP on the other hand charges a truly crazy flat rate of $30! I almost don’t know what to do with this. $30, really? It kind of scares me that they would charge so little. I didn’t intend for this article to become a comparison article but […]
Threeme Day Three!
That’s right, it’s Threeme Day Three. It almost makes me feel superstitious. In honor of the symbolism, we’re bringing you three new themes from WordPress.com: Little Story, Scrollider, and Pachyderm.
3.6 Is Just Around the Corner
Something exciting is coming our way. In fact, it’ll arrive on March 27th. It’s the beta release of WordPress 3.6! This is great news as there are some really cool features shipping with 3.6. And for those of us who don’t want to play around with the beta, the official release is scheduled for April 29th. Either way we’re not looking at waiting much longer for the next version of WordPress. So, let’s dive in to what’s new shall we? Here we go!
Editorial Theme Leaves A Lot To Be Desired
I’m back with another review and this time it’s about a new theme release, Editorial, that was pitched to us via our “Submit News” button. We love to get pitches like this, with PR and marketing collateral to boot, but that does mean that you’re opening yourself up to attention, both good and bad. I guess that’s the price of being bold sometimes! Moving right along; I don’t know about you but I’m a big fan of themes, well to be more specific, good themes. I like good design. It has to be well thought out, practical and beautiful. I […]
Fantasktic: Simple Support For Anything WordPress
Here at WP Daily we’re always on the look out for new WordPress related services and sites. It just so happens that one fell into our crosshairs the other day as Fantasktic was submitted to us for review. I enjoy doing reviews for a number of reasons: It keeps me apprised of what’s new in the WordPress world, gives me an excuse to delve even deeper into a service I wouldn’t otherwise analyze and if we’re being honest it’s fun to share my opinions about what I like and what I think is pointless. With that, it’s on to our review of Fantasktic, […]
Boston University Launches Navigation Plugin
Another day, another inventive approach to WordPress. I’m always intrigued by the solutions people create to solve issues they are having with their WordPress sites. Boston University has created such a solution, in the form of a clever plugin that handles site navigation. The aptly named BU Navigation Plugin aims to, according to their developer page, ‘tame even the most unruly of site structures’ and is designed with large sites in mind. The larger the page count on the site the more impact the BU Navigation Plugin can have.
WP Test: An Exhaustive Set of Test Data
Michael Novotny, who runs QA for 8BIT, launched a new site during his session this weekend at WordCamp Atlanta called WP Test. As Michael explains, WP Test uses “a fantastically exhaustive set of test data to measure the integrity of your plugins and themes.” WP Test will run your themes and plugins though the gauntlet and show you visually where your blog survives and where it breaks. WP test is built off of the WordPress Theme Unit Test Codex as well as 3 years of experience in plugin and theme support, corner cases included.

WP_Query And WordPress' Future With Andrew Nacin
Check out these 2 videos from Andrew Nacin, the first is a 45 minute discussion on WP_Query. Certainly not for the faint of heart but it should provide food for thought. The second video is an interesting 38 minute review of what’s happened in WordPress from 2010-2012 and what’s coming down the pipe. Enjoy after the jump!
