Noel Tock and WP Remote are looking to up their game and to continue to create a product worth downloading and using. He’s looking for a bit of help with a survey that he’s shot out – would you mind answering it, especially if you’re a WP Remote fan? Check it:
WPUniversity Plugin Looking for Beta Testers
Whoa, now what is this? It’s not a video, it’s not an overlay. It’s real help happening in real-time solving real problems and questions. It's a Brad Brad World – Security and His WP Agency
Ok, I’ll admit that on occasion I’ll sit on my couch with my wife long enough to see what passes as “entertainment” these days via reality TV and to be honest, the fashion shows are some of the more interesting. The personalities, at the very least, have some creative depth! And Bravo has some of the best shows – without question. It’s a Brad Brad World isn’t one of them though (he was such a punk for using his position with Rachel Zoe to spin his own show!) but it did give me a title of this blog post today. […]
Better Planet Update #1 – Votes are In
It seems that the votes are in and the 2 new additions to WPLift’s Better Planet system are… (*drum roll please*): Pippin’s Plugins Matt Report Nice. With 22% and 39% respectively these two sites easily out-distanced the other sites that were being considered.
An Overview of Postagon: "Just Right"?
Wow, is this the year of new and alternative blogging platforms? Does everyone have a vision for a new system and application? Perhaps, and we’re only half-way through the year. Yikes. I can’t help but try the new systems and even though it eats up a lot of my time I think it’s valuable to see what innovation is being developed by thoughtful developers and designers. Check this visual overview of system that’s very similar to Roon, except it’s much more mature and has a business model already:
Adding Small (But Useful) Features to WordPress
Sometimes it’s the smallest things that end up being the most useful – that have the greatest impact. Since a lot of people are reconsidering WordPress in many different ways, both functionally and stylistically, I’ve been keeping tabs on small scripts and apps that seem to doing things right, even if it’s the smallest piece of code. For example, this counting script is simple and the use is obvious:
Red Pen – Upload, Share, Give/Get Feedback
LOL! I love their short but sweet description: Red Pen lets you upload your design, share a short URL, and get live, annotated feedback super-fast. It remembers you— there’s no logging in, no project management, no bullshit. This is the deal: you retain ownership of your uploads. Your data will not be sold or shared. We will never ever spam you. Because we are not douchebags. Well-said, well-said.
Learn CSS Layouts in a Few Steps
Interesting in learning more about CSS layouts? It might be the first place to start, especially if you want to start a new career in web design – you really can’t avoid CSS (and layouts) in today’s modern web. Check out this simple overview that’ll teach you some basic fundamentals, like selectors, properties, and values are. Of course, you should know at least a thing or two about layout and if you want to learn HTML and CSS from the beginning, you should check out this tutorial.
Adding a Simple (and Strategic) Feedly Button
With the death of Google Reader just around the corner it’s imperative that you find your alternate solution this week before it’s too late to export your feeds and then save them. There are a lot of options out there and I’ve already shared with you my interest in using Feedly before. We’ve also covered a few other alternatives here as well. Well, here’s another reason to choose Feedly:
The WordPress Weekend Roundup
What a week – how was yours? I’m spending my time in Florida on a mini-vacation of sorts (still very-much working) and it’s been good so far. The team back home in Atlanta hasn’t let anything burn to the ground, so that’s good news. Hope you are finding some rest and relaxation this summer my friends!
