We’ve got some good options for displaying sidebars conditionally: either by coding them or using a plugin. But, I’ve had a few situations with clients where the widgets themselves should be conditional, instead of creating entire sidebars. What are the options? I’ll walk you through six that I came across, and which one I landed on for this client. Remember that the most important thing for me here was to have it work intuitively for them, not me.
Daily Theme & Plugin Roundup – 3.10.2013
It’s a quiet Sunday for me but not quiet day on the WordPress plugin directory. There’s quite a few new and updated plugins to share with you on today’s roundup. There’s equal representation at 16 new and 16 updated plugins. Here they are!
Daily Theme & Plugin Roundup – 3.9.2013
I hope you all are having a great weekend! Today’s roundup is nothing but new plugins. They don’t have to share the spotlight with anything else. The Code Snippet Library seems like something I should definitely try out. Does it or any other plugin jump out at you and maybe worth a spin?
Daily Theme & Plugin Roundup – 3.8.2013
It’s Friday! Let the weekend begin! There’s loads of new and updated plugins to share on today’s roundup. One that quickly stood out to me was Bitcoin Payments for WooCommerce. I haven’t personally used Bitcoin as of yet, but it’s something that I try to follow along with WooCommerce. Good stuff! 30 new plugins is quite impressive. Don’t you think? Check them out after the break!
Another Threeme Day with a Superhero!
If you didn’t catch the first “threeme” day then you’ll be pleasantly introduced to yet another day where three new themes have been released on WordPress.com! They are called Photographer, Superhero, and Sidekick. It’s almost as if it’s like Spiderman (Photographer), Batman (Superhero), and Robin (Sidekick) day or something. Check them out:
Remote Work: Mistake or Proven Strategy?
On February 5th, a CEO announced they were bringing their distributed team back into a single location. The reason made sense as he shared some of the reasons why (emphasis mine): [W]e are spending more time together to make even better progress on our core products. No, this wasn’t Yahoo. It was John Saddington and his team – you know, the folks behind this web site here.

I’m not opposed to that as competition is a good thing that forces everyone to innovate and press even harder to create more value. I especially like it when I see individuals who create their own marketplaces based out of their own need. For example, Austin Passy is smart – he went about creating a marketplace for his growing line of plugins and taking that extra step of branding […]
Hello Dolly: Episode 4: I Don't Think You're Ready For This Jelly
It’s been a little while since our last episode – though we’re aiming for a couple of episodes per month (well, at least one per month), we’ve been heads down working on Standard and getting ready for WordCamp Atlanta. To that point, we spend a bit of time talking about WordCamp Atlanta and some of the meetups happening around the area during the weekend where we’d all love to hang with you guys. Of course, we talk about a lot more in the episode, as well.
Daily Theme & Plugin Roundup – 3.7.2013
Happy Thursday! I’ve got a new theme and some new and updated plugins to share on today’s roundup. I took a little spin on the Attitude theme preview site. It looks a lot like the Twenty Twelve theme, just a bit more simple. Nicely done! Here’s the full list:
