So, you just bought a shiny new widget and it’s great. You couldn’t be happier with your purchase. However, a couple weeks later you notice the widget is on sale – 50% off! How do you feel? Do you expect to be refunded the difference? Some of my good friends in the software business don’t think that’s a fair expectation. If you purchased something for $100 last week, you did so because you believed that it was worth $100 to you. If it wasn’t, you would not have spent the money. — From Adii’s article Promotional Leniency If I purchased a product at full […]

It’s Super Bowl Sunday! We have one plugin and one theme to share on the roundup today with you. They got things submitted just in time to watch the big game. Either they are football fans, or they just love watching some commercials. Who do you think is going to win it? 49er’s? Raven’s? Broncos? My money is on the Giants. Don’t forget to check out our Weekend Roundup as well. You can check them out and our daily roundups here too. We are always open to suggestions and have already implemented a few. Here’s your updated theme and new plugin:
Disappointing: My Beta Look at Feathe.rs
I was so friggin’ excited to see that I had gotten my much-anticipated BETA access to feathe.rs, a new distraction-free writing app for the web. I’m incredibly passionate about publishing and experimenting with alternative blogging and publishing platforms is both my job and hobby and, well, everything else in between. I can’t remember when I had first signed up for the feathe.rs invite but it has been a wait – I put everything on hold the moment I saw it in my inbox and sat down thinking that I would be there for quite some time. 5 minutes later I […]
Daily Theme & Plugin Roundup – 2.02.2013
How’s everyone’s weekend going so far? I have a couple of new plugins to let you guys know about in today’s roundup. The Gist Shortcode looks pretty sweet, especially for developers who want to share some code snippets from Github. What about you guys? Any other plugins stand out or look interesting? Are you an author of one of these?
The WordPress Weekend Roundup
Wow. Another crazy week in the land of WordPress and we’ve been at the very center of some big conversations. It’s been a fantastic experience to see the community pull out all the stops to support each other around licensing and the GPL. With Collis Ta’eed’s response in regards to Envato’s stance as well as a much more clear look at the differences between Automattic and the WordPress Foundation things are starting to settle and we’re starting to get back to business as usual. Actually, let’s be honest – it’s always been business as usual and most of us haven’t lost […]
Daily Theme & Plugin Roundup – 2.1.2013
I have a few new and updated plugins to share with ya’ll for today’s roundup. I’m a bit intrigued by the new Title After Editor plugin. There’s plenty of times when I want to get right to writing and worry about the title later. Heck, I think as a parent of a new born baby you have up to 6 weeks to name your child. Same thing? I’m not a parent, so I have no idea. Well here’s these plugin authors new and updated babies plugins:
Free Theme Friday
Not all themes are created equal. In a sea of bad code, exploits and outdated WordPress calls. We here at WP Daily want to point out some diamonds in the rough. For the first edition of free theme Friday I present to you Tethered by Calvin Koepke Sweet, A free responsive clean WordPress theme?! Let’s take a quick look under Tethered’s hood:
EditFlow v0.7.5: Updates, Prepares for 3.6 Core
EditFlow, recently seeing 0.7.5 come to light, is one of the must-haves for blogs that do any editorial work and any sites that manage multiple users for publishing content and apparently everyone is going to experience it first-hand with the upcoming release of v3.6 of WordPress as it’s being integrated into core! We’ve known that this is coming and I seriously can’t wait for it to come out and with the way that online publishing is headed I believe this might be the single-most important feature to be released as more and more publishers are requiring even better tools for their needs […]
DradCast – It's Like the WordPress BrAngelina!
Man, my Photoshop skills are so legit~! Brad Williams and Dre Armeda are coming together in a collaboration of epic proportions calling it “Dradcast” a’la BrAngelina, most likely another podcast-esque endeavor that’ll bring back the two who once joined forces on WP Late Night with WPCandy. I can only imagine what they’ll be covering but if you don’t mind having these two fill your ears with sweet-nothings then you can sign-up to be notified on their temporary homepage here:
Is WPCandy Changing Their Brand?
A few tweets in and you can let your mind wander as much as you’d like, but it could be really exciting if we see WPCandy freshen up and make a serious comeback: @agriimony Hey Aaron! We love your designs at Society6! Interested in some illustration work? DM me for further details. — WPCandy (@wpcandy) January 28, 2013 Aaron Thong of Society6 has a sweet portfolio of previous work that has a very creative and different edge:
