You probably already see the notice in your dashboard that you have something *ahem* to do this weekend for yourself and perhaps all your clients, customers, and personal projects: v3.5.1 has been released! 37 bugs have been destroyed on this latest maintenance and security release and as mentioned via the WordPress blog it includes such things as: Editor: Prevent certain HTML elements from being unexpectedly removed or modified in rare cases. Media: Fix a collection of minor workflow and compatibility issues in the new media manager. Networks: Suggest proper rewrite rules when creating a new network. Prevent scheduled posts from […]
WordPress Begins 3.6 Release Cycle in January
The work is never done, is it? With the recent release of 3.5 the team is taking a small break and coming back in January to start working towards 3.6. But that doesn’t mean that people can’t start bringing ideas to the table and submitting tickets. Andrew Nacin has already put up some thoughts about the newer jQuery 1.9 Beta 1 to trunk: The release cycle for WordPress 3.6 isn’t going to start until January, but we can of course start to drop in some early things before then. Core Team to Discuss 3.5 Launch, Learnings

And we all can be very […]

They are asking people to boot it up, test it, and see if you can break it. In fact, Andrew Nacin shares exactly what needs to be reviewed:

Dear TinyMCE, you and I are breaking up after this. — Andrew Nacin (@nacin) December 10, 2012 It looks like not all is well in release land as some issues appears to have cropped up with TinyMCE per a few tweets that have been passing close to midnight tonight, the above via @Nacin. @Koop, another core developer, had this to say about the release that was scheduled to appear tomorrow at 11:00am EST:
WordPress 3.5 Set to Release Monday @ 11:00am EST
Drat. I was hoping to play around with it this weekend – but as Andrew shared on the Core Blog the team has been working over-time to make things happen and the team is outright exhausted:
