When it comes to accessibility and usability with screen readers, WordPress has made some enormous strides in the right direction over the past few versions. Nonetheless, there are some techniques screen reader users can employ in order to make navigating and using the Dashboard a little less time consuming. This post is directed mostly at new users, and so won’t cover any code changes, and for the most part, will leave plugins out of the equation. There will also be some goodies here for more advanced users, so if you’re one of these, this may be something to keep handy.

Matt on the Democratization of the Web
More and more blog posts are being published every single day which is changing the game for independent publishers and professionals alike. It’s allowing more and more people to share their thoughts freely, which is a powerfully-important thing. It’s democratizing the web and with more voices in the mix we’re getting a better picture of who we are as individuals as well as who we are as a collective race of human beings. We are learning, constantly, and it’s refreshing.
Quality and Growth Over Quantity
The days of yesterday. When there used to be jobs that were much more specific. Now they seem to be specific, but they ask you to do 10 things rather than one. Jobs are just asking for more from less people. The strong survive in the corporate world. What does this do? Well I for one feel it has taught me a ton about communication, but when it comes to my skills in creative work, nothing at work has really taught me anything or brought me progress.

2 WP.TV Talks (and Tips To Be a Better Presenter)
Like many of you I spend most of my time (and my living) sitting behind a computer and writing things with my hot little hands. Happy Friday everyone! I hope you had a great day and are looking forward to the weekend. I have a couple of updated themes and some plugins to share with you today. Make sure to check them out sometime this weekend. Here they are:
Sensei Updates to 1.3.0
The folks behind Sensei announced their latest version, 1.3.0 today, bringing with it lots of neat new features, like multiple choice questions and quiz grading. If you’re not familiar with Sensei, it’s a neat little plugin that makes online teaching and assessments very easy with WordPress. Its focus is ease of use and simplicity, and because of that, it integrates seamlessly with any theme and other plugins you might already be using on your site. The use cases are endless, allowing anyone to monetize teaching a skill they have and then quiz students on what they’ve learned.
