For today’s article on validating and scaling WordPress products, I asked two seemingly simple questions of two people whose opinions I respect on the matter. While I’m really proud of the resulting article and how I used their words to make my point, I feel like you, the reader, are missing out on the incredibly detailed and well thought out responses they gave to my questions. So, we are sharing the complete transcripts of those interviews below. Patrick Rauland on Product Release Patrick Rauland is the Product Manager for WooCommerce. You can find him on Twitter @BFTrick. Conductor: A Modular Layout Builder for WordPress
In the wide, wide world of WordPress page builders, Conductor sure sticks out. It doesn’t integrate with your post editor or offer you limitless layout options. Instead, it focuses on helping you create excellent layouts for your pages and archives in (and I mean this) a matter of minutes, using a few clever tools. Matt Medieros of Slocum Studio, the creator of Conductor, sat down with me and walked me through Conductor’s functionality. Then he let me play with it on my own site. The tl;dr, Conductor is a keeper. What’s Conductor? Conductor is a layout builder plugin that integrates […]

It's a Brad Brad World – Security and His WP Agency
Ok, I’ll admit that on occasion I’ll sit on my couch with my wife long enough to see what passes as “entertainment” these days via reality TV and to be honest, the fashion shows are some of the more interesting. The personalities, at the very least, have some creative depth! And Bravo has some of the best shows – without question. It’s a Brad Brad World isn’t one of them though (he was such a punk for using his position with Rachel Zoe to spin his own show!) but it did give me a title of this blog post today. […]
Better Planet Update #1 – Votes are In
It seems that the votes are in and the 2 new additions to WPLift’s Better Planet system are… (*drum roll please*): Pippin’s Plugins Matt Report Nice. With 22% and 39% respectively these two sites easily out-distanced the other sites that were being considered.
Jeff Chandler of WPTavern, An Accidental Entrepreneur?
That’s the story or at least the presupposition as Matt Medeiros goes into chatting with Jeff Chandler of WPTavern. Many entrepreneurs are accidental with only a few people really becoming one because they wanted to “when they grow up.” I know for myself that I also fell into it as it wasn’t one of the job descriptions that I was presented with when I was a kid. Perhaps those are the best kind although it’s quite a subjective space to begin with.
Can You Build a Business on WP Video Alone?
The answer is a resounding “Yes” because we already know of great sites that are doing it, like WP101 that creates training videos for people and that partners with the likes of Page.ly and other companies to provide their service to them. This is an obvious use of video and as WP101 expands internationally it’s going to be a sustainable and valuable resource for thousands of people (if not many, many more). But what I’m talking about is not just a video-centric educational system or business – what I’m talking about is a videocast-ish commentary business where you sit around […]
Open for Voting: A Better Planet Feed
We’ve covered this initiative previously and I’m excited to see that Oli’s continuing to build steam and make good on his promise to deliver a better feed and curated experience for everyone. Now, he’s opened up some voting for including a few other notable blogs, like the following: WP Force Pippins Plugins Chris Lema Winning WP Bob WP WP Teach Matt Report WP Daily Themes I am personally a fan of a few of these and not a super-fan of others but the community will ultimately decide.
