It has been quite an eventful and productive last few weeks for me both at work and at home. Whether its a project at work or a personal project, sometimes you have time to kill when waiting for a response or the “go ahead” to complete something. Those are times when we can try to catch up on other things. Surprisingly enough, I have found that my habits of cleanliness or having an organized area truly effect my work habits in an overall sense. I have gotten a lot more done, in my mind, which means less stress and more […]
Why Some WordPress Versions are More Successful
All of us here love WordPress. Have you ever wondered why some WordPress versions were more successful than others? And what can be done better in the future? For the last 3 years I’ve been monitoring WordPress stats, here are some of my insights:

6 Benefits of Enabling WordPress Multisite
A few weeks ago, we converted our blog to WordPress Multisite. While it might not be something everyone will feel comfortable doing, the feature serves as a excellent example of why WordPress is such a powerful blogging platform. Multisite is a WordPress configuration that allows you to manage several sites or blogs from one installation of WordPress. This functionality is built into every installation of WordPress, once it is turned on. You can follow our step by step process here if you’d like to get started. In case you’re not sure about it, here are some of the major benefits that multisite allows […]
The Perfect Landing Page?
Landing pages matter. A lot. Any company that has anything to sell or offer a customer it can mean the difference between a successful business and a failed one. Why? Because landing pages provide opportunities for conversion and if you aren’t converting potential customers into real customers then you fail. Period. I am not the best student of landing page psychology and design/development namely because I generally choose to ship products and then figure out the marketing later – this works for me but I’ll be the first to admit that I have a lot that I can learn. I […]
Twenty Thirteen Not Backwards Compatible?
The other day I wrote an article about the upcoming release of WordPress 3.6 beta, which I’m pretty excited about. Among the various topics covered was the release of Twenty Thirteen. Well today I’d like to dive deeper into that release and ask some questions about the philosophy of not allowing backwards compatibility.

Why Gallery Thumbnail Dimensions Matter
It was not until I became more familiar with WordPress and its flexibility did I realize how much dimensions matter. There are thousands, if not millions, of WordPress users that have the most popular WordPress gallery plugin installed. Countless users have posted in the forum that they are not happy with the look of their thumbnail galleries. In the end, though, it comes down to styling. By default, NextGEN Gallery creates 100×75 pixel thumbnails. While that is good for some, it’s boring to others. More specifically, creatives like photographers and graphic designers.
Fix My WP: Support On The Cheap Or Cheap Support?
Fix My WP was submitted to us for news the same day we covered Fantasktic, another WordPress support site. Coincidence? I think not. Both sites offer one-time support (Fatasktic just added a monthly support option), albeit for very different prices. Fantasktic charges an almost flat fee of $99, which is great. Fix My WP on the other hand charges a truly crazy flat rate of $30! I almost don’t know what to do with this. $30, really? It kind of scares me that they would charge so little. I didn’t intend for this article to become a comparison article but […]
